Ugwu Chinwe (The Magic Mayor) Empower Nsukka Workers Association By Ikemu ozioko Thank You for Remembering Us, Nsukka Workers Association (Labourers), Tells the Magic Mayor; We have never seen this kind of favour before, says group; As the Magic Mayor gave out 50 Head pans, 50 Shovels and 20 Trowels to indigent beneficiaries. 

It was indeed an infectious convivial ambience on, Monday, the 3rd of February, 2020 at the premises of Adada House, where the Magic Mayor of Nsukka LGA, Hon Chinwe Ugwu, put smiles on the faces of members of a section of the society who confessed they never ever thought it possible that any government would spare a thought on them. 

 

But Today, in a show of sustained interest in the welfare of every section of the Nsukka society, the Diligent Magic Mayor has broken what the Nsukka Workers Association considered a jinx, giving them a sense of belonging, dancing and merying with them in a pathfinding gesture they, according them, had never ever experienced before. What Hon Chinwe Ugwu did today has gone a long way in alleviating the indegent conditions of today's beneficiaries; labourers who, on daily basis, go through the rigours of renting working materials such as Head pans, Shovels and their likes, for their daily bread. Today, the graciously thankful labourers became owners of their own tools, a development that has added a boost to their livelihood and survival. 

The event, which sparked off euphoric appreciations from the scores of beneficiaries, will, according to the group, go down in history as an event that, for the first time in their chosen trade, they would feel wanted in a society that had totally forgotten them; a feeling alien to them. You may wish to be reminded how the knack to better the lot of the less privileged of the society, motivated the Magic Mayor recently to purchase and give out, free-of-charge, 30 Wheelbarrows to 30 indegent wheelbarrow pushers in Nsukka Markets. Addressing the Members of Nsukka Workers Association, the Diligent Magic Mayor made it clear that she will continue to be there for the less privileged. Telling them that the group benefitting today is only the first batch, she assured them that the gesture of empowering them will continue even after she leaves office. Speaking on behalf of the elated group, the Chairman of the group, prayed for the Magic Mayor, declaring, in his own words "that God who made her remember them; the forgotten lot of the society will astound her with overwhelming blessings." He prayed that since he and his group has stepped into Hon Chinwe Ugwu's Adada House, courtesy of her magnanimity, that their stepping into the premises will spell unimaginable quantum of blessings for the Magic Mayor. He said, "We have been hearing of and seeing your good works in Nsukka LGA and today you have brought us here to make us feel and see it, flesh and blood, and all we have to say is thank you and God bless you." In the end, the Magic Mayor treated them to a modest lunch and merriment; dancing and dining with them in an ecstatic exhilaration.
