It was indeed, an unprecedented harvest of goodwill on Monday, the 6th of April, 2020 at the premises of the Adada Hall, the official Event Center of Nsukka LGA, as the City Mayor, Hon Chief Patrick Omeje, in an event, described by one of the guests, as the first-of-its kind since the days of Alhaji Shehu Shagari as President, fulfilled yet another promise to his people, poviding, in a remarkable bounty, relief items, to cushion the inimical effects of the sit-at-home directive of the government.

The directive, arising from government's efforts to contain the spread of COVID 19 Pandemic, which has hardly lasted a week, has, evidently begun to take its untoward toll on the populace, especially the indigents, and the poorest of the poor, who abound in our society.

Since the imbroglio with the Coronavirus, its spread and the need to stay home to check it, began, one thing had clearly bothered the City Mayor.
He had consistently, openly wondered and worried about how his people would be able to stay home with every means of livelihood, shut down.
For those who followed his Public Awareness Campaigns closely, this fact was hardly hidden from all who cared to listen as he toured round the Council Area in that whirlwind of the fiery Awareness Campaigns.
And consequent upon his quest for the well being of his people, the City Mayor, had, in a number of fora, promised to supply relief material to the good people of Nsukka LGA during the lockdown.

Today, in a manner that had been consistent with him since his second tenure resumed, he has, like he has also done with several other promises, fulfiled this one beyond immaginations.
And since the spree of provisions of palliatives begun accross the LGAs of the state, what the City Mayor did today in Nsukka LGA, many would agree, stands out on a different scale in, in fact, all ramifications.

With a whooping 500 bags of rice, 400 Cartons of indomie and 300 gallons of Solive Oil, the Ebullient City Mayor, has, yet again, emerged steps ahead, even in this phase of this uncanny combat against COVID 19.

The food items stood out like the walls of gibraltar in magnanimous splendor in outright replication of the City Mayor's generosity.

The beauty of APRIL 6TH 2020 Monday's programme would however be most clearly seen in its all party and all denominational stance as the City Mayor extended invitations to other political parties in the LGA, including, the APC.
In the town hall meeting, the Traditional Rulers, The Presidents General and the Councilors, took the pride of places as the items were handed over to this trio in each ward, for onward identification of the due beneficiaries and distribution of the items.
