By Vatican news Pope Francis to pray rosary with Marian shrines around the world
Imploring the intercession of Our Lady to end the pandemic, Pope Francis will pray the rosary from the grotto of Our Lady of Lourdes in the Vatican Gardens on Saturday, May 30 at 5.30 pm (Rome time).
In a press release, the Pontifical Council for the Promotion of the New Evangelization announced that the Holy Father will pray the rosary in spiritual communion with the principal Marian shrines around the world.
As the Marian shrines around the globe have not yet returned to normalcy, the rosary initiative of the Holy Father "intends to support the pastoral activities of these very important places of prayer."
“It will be a worldwide act of prayer for those who wish to unite with Pope Francis on the eve of Pentecost Sunday,” stated the pontifical council.
"At the feet of Mary, the Holy Father will place the many troubles and sorrows of humanity, further worsened by the spread of COVID-19," the pontifical council said in the statement.
“… Most assuredly, I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in My name He will give you. Until now you have asked nothing in My name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full.” (John 16:23-24)
