Asari Dokubo made his wealth from the suffering, pain, blood and death of his people - Somto Okonkwo

For those of you who don't know Asari Dokubo, let me just give you a little summary about Asari Dokubo by Somto Okonkwo

 Asari Dokubo is a mere political thug parading himself as a leader. This is someone who fooled his Ijaw people into believing he was fighting for their interest when all he did was to enrich himself while his homeland and people continue to wallow in extreme poverty and perpetual suffering. 

In 1998, Asari Dokubo started his money-motivated career in activism by claiming he was fighting against the Nigerian government and oil companies operating in the Niger Delta region. This is someone who was involved in regional politics, running for two offices in Rivers state in 1992 and 1998 but failed to win in both occasions. Asari Dokubo went on to create the Niger Delta people's volunteer force (NDPVF). A militant group which was largely funded by top politicians who only wanted to profit heavily from the regions oil revenue and not for the interest of the people of Niger Delta.

Asari Dokubo used the Niger Delta people's volunteer force (NDPVF) to engage in oil bunkering and other illegal forms of local resource extraction. He got involved in kidnapping, killing and extortion. Asari was later arrested but released on bail after he reached a 'judas kiss' agreement with Umaru Yar'adua's administration. As part of his agreement with Yar'adua's government, Asari Dokubo was paid over $10 million a year from Abuja as part of the federal "pipeline security protection fee" to protect the Rivers state pipelines and creeks that his militants bombed, kidnapped and killed workers and guards in the region. 

Asari Dokubo made his wealth from the suffering, pain, blood and death of his people who he claimed to be fighting for yet he boosts that he is richer then Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. How can he compare his blood money to the geninue hardwork and sacrifice of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu? apart from building mansions everywhere with the money meant for his people and also empowering Niger Delta youth's with guns/ammunitions to fight for his corrupt empire. What has Asari Dokubo really done for the people of Niger Delta? how has he improved their lives? how many families has he removed from extreme poverty? what has he done to help clean-up the oil spillage that has destroyed his region? instead, he has continued to work with the same Nigerian government and oil companies that has destroyed his region just because of greed, money and political protection while his people perish. 

Asari Dokubo doesn't care about self-determination of his native Ijaw people and independence for the Niger Delta. All his campaign for freedom are just empty talks and only to keep deceiving his followers. even Nelson Mandela said "a freedom fighter that lives in peace with his oppressor is compromised". A geninue freedom fighter is one who is ready to sacrifice anything for freedom. Such a person will even be prepared to go to prison or even be exiled in defense of what he/she believes in. Not Asari Dokubo! 

No true freedom fighter is found to be in the good books or at peace with his enemies, never”! the life of a genuine freedom fighter is always trailed by danger of death, hence he is either arrested, tortured, imprisoned, forcefully sent on exile, villified or/and even killed. Mazi Nnamdi Kanu was arrested in 2015, spent almost 3 years in prison, came out on bail and the Nigerian government still tried to assassinate him in his hometown in Umuahia and 28 innocent people were killed in the process.

After he managed to escape, he went on exile and still continued his fight for freedom and the liberation of his people. While on exile, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu was illegally kidnapped (extra ordinary rendition) from Kenya by the Nigerian government and brought back to Nigeria in chains. Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is currently being tortured, dehumanized, poorly fed and mistreated by the Nigerian government. Meanwhile, Asari Dokubo who parade himself as a freedom fighter and activist, is busy galavanting, enjoying himself and lavishly spending his ill-gotten wealth under the protection of the Nigerian government. 

So no one in their right mind and senses will ever take Asari Dokubo serious. One of the reasons Asari Dokubo is so jealous of the leader of the indigenous people of biafra (ipob), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is because the height Mazi Nnamdi Kanu has attained, Asari in his wildest dreams come never ever come close to that. The sacrifices and efforts of mazi nnamdi kanu for his people, is something someone like Asari Dokubo can never understand. Mazi Nnamdi Kanu will go down in history as a true freedom fighter, a legend, a great leader, a true warrior and a libertor of his people. meanwhile, Asari Dokubo will go down in history as a common criminal, pipeline contractor, creek watchman, tyrant of his people, a common thief, a house Niger to the Nigerian government, a fraud, a blackmailer, an extortionist, a bloodsucker and an exploiter of his region. 

Millions of people will march and die for Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, how many will be willing to do the same for the toad king, Asari Dokubo?
